The conlusion of the movie "The Black Dahlia" seem rather far fetched to me. So, who really did kill the Black Dehlia?

Sorry you had such a crappy time shopping at Walmart. Experiences like yours is one of the reason I don't like to shop there. The other reason is the corporate mentality of Walmart. If you really want to get sick of the place read: "The Bully of Bentonville by Anthony Bianco. It'll really get your blood boiling.

Say You're a Bethelite & Monitoring JWD - How Would You Feel About THESE??
by Seeker4 ini'm talking about the new posters, like kitten whiskers, who started posting today (hope this works: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/120817/1.ashx).
and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.
people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!

I was thinking that, if I was still an active elder, or at Bethel, and was reading this, it would really get to me. I'd be thinking about how I could get this information to the GB, or somehow try to make a difference, and I would know it wouldn't be possible
I wonder if they bother to monitor sites like this. The lies they have told that are posted here they already know about. They already know a lot of witnesses and former witness post on sites like this and they know there is nothing they can do about it be cause most of what is said is true and they would only draw attendion to them selves. If they had people monitor it they stand the chance of loose those people or having what they are seeing get out to and spread to other witness. I think they are just wishing the whole internet thing would just go away.

She stayed for 13 years after I left, giving every reason possible. I think she stayed because she wanted it to be the Truth so badly. In the end, she left because finally the dysfunction of the organization touched her.
It has been longer than that with my wife but you give me hope Big Tex.
Hey Zarco, nice to meet you!

I'm so Naughty! I pretended to be a JW to get a sale.
by Pioneer Spit...oh, i mean Spirit ini had customers yesterday, a couple, who said they had to get to a meeting by 7:30 last night.
(red flag!
) i asked what was the nature of this meeting, and they said it was like church, and i asked what religion, and they were hohos.

i apologize, i am not a regular on this board so i do not mean to come off as judgemental... i am just bringing this up as a point of debate...
because they were witnesses, did you feel it was alright to deceive them? was the deception somehow part of contempt for the religion they still practice?Pcecilia, don't be too hard on him. I have found that many witness or x-witness make excellent sales people. Some of the technics they use to sell are technics they learn while going door to door or in the ministry school to get people to take the books or magazines.

What shocked you first, into realizing the world was not like the JW's?
by free2beme ini left the witnesses in 1997. i was trying to make new friends and met some people through the gym.
my spouse and i went to their house for some dinner, and we thought it would be a great time.
also, we wanted to get to know people that were not witnesses and get a foot-hold into our new life.

I had a similar experience only it was when I was becoming a JW. One of the sisters who was calling on me had 3 daughters. We became good friends. One time I went over to their house to see them. Their parents weren't home at the time. We were sitting around talking when one of them brings out a gram of hash. We sat on the kitchen floor and smoked some of it, and I was trying so hard to become a good j-dub at the time. I guess my experience has been that you have to watch who you associate with whether your a JW or not if you don't want trouble in your life.

Get used to it Lola. There are a lot of idiots out there that seem to think everyone needs to hear their stupid opinions. I run into one of these types about once a week. Just because someone is in a wheelchair doesn't mean they are a nice person even though we tend to think they will be. I think a correct response to him could have been "que tonto".

"Jehovah's people" always sounded funny to me. As in I'll have my people contact your people.
I remember them referring to the act of not going to meetings or out in service regularly as "begging off". I always felt that what they really wanted to say began with and F.

You might want to go to "meetup.com" and type in "Jehovah". There might be a group in your area. I just went to the one in my area this past Monday and had a great time.
